Professional Beauty London Stand Builders: A Product-Led Show that Rewards Display
Professional Beauty London is the UK's leading trade show for the salon, spa, aesthetics and nail sectors, organised by CloserStill Media and held at ExCeL. Recent editions draw around 30,000 attendees and roughly 800 exhibitors over two days, and the 2026 edition runs 4–5 October co-located with the World Spa & Wellness Convention and the International Manufacturers & Distributors Forum — pushing the combined audience past 45,000 salon owners, spa and clinic operators, distributors and brand buyers.
Beauty is a product-led, visual show, which changes the stand brief. Buyers come to touch, test and watch. The stands that win are the ones that turn product into theatre: clean back-wall branding, well-lit shelving and testers at the front, and a treatment or demo station that pulls a crowd. A plain table-and-banner stand gets walked past in a hall full of brands competing on exactly this.
Building at ExCeL: the rules that shape your {show} stand
ExCeL is a pillar-free hall with around 10m of clear internal height, but your stand does not get all of it. For space-only stands the working height limit at most ExCeL shows is 6m, and anything ExCeL classes as a complex structure — double-deckers, heavy suspended elements, long unsupported spans — triggers a formal sign-off you need to budget time for, not just money.
Here is how that process actually runs, and why using a builder who has done it matters. Complex designs must be submitted with engineering calculations applying a minimum factor of safety of 1.5. An independent structural engineer reviews the drawings for ExCeL and the local authority and, if satisfied, issues a Certificate of Integrity at design stage — which releases your Certificate to Build. The same engineer inspects the stand on site during build-up and issues a second Certificate of Integrity at construction stage before you can open. Miss a calculation or submit late and you do not build.
Overhead rigging is controlled tightly: all primary rigging to the ceiling is installed exclusively by ExCeL's own team — you cannot fix anything to the building yourself. Banner and lighting rigs are ordered through ExCeL's webshop and confirmed around 28 days before tenancy for the advance rate, with the organiser's permission to rig required first. Lightweight static items hang from drop wires up to 50kg; heavier loads or chain hoists are separate, costlier orders, and trim heights are standardised so no stand flies its banner higher than its neighbours.
The smaller rules catch people out too: platforms above 170mm need ramped, accessible access and a clear colour contrast at the level change; solid walls along an open gangway edge are generally not allowed; only water-based paint may be used on site; and every structure must be fully self-supporting. We design to all of this from the first sketch and submit the venue paperwork, so the build you approve is the build that opens.
What a winning Professional Beauty stand needs
For this audience, design around three things: product visibility (illuminated shelving and tester bars at aisle level, not buried inside the stand), a live demo or treatment chair where a therapist can work in view, and a short, private consultation corner for serious distributor and wholesale conversations. Storage matters too — beauty exhibitors move a lot of stock, so a discreet lockable store keeps the front of stand clean.
Custom, modular or rental for Professional Beauty?
Many beauty exhibitors return every year, which makes a reusable modular or part-owned stand attractive — refreshed graphics each edition keep it current at a fraction of a full rebuild. First-time and smaller brands usually do better with a fixed-price rental or enhanced shell scheme that still looks bespoke. We build all three and will tell you honestly which fits your show schedule and budget.
What a Professional Beauty London stand costs
Indicative turnkey pricing: an enhanced shell scheme or compact custom build with lit shelving and a counter runs roughly £3,950–£12,500; a mid-size custom build with a treatment/demo area, AV and meeting space runs £12,500–£28,000; and a flagship build with bespoke joinery, multiple demo stations and hospitality runs £28,000 and up. Every quote includes a free 3D concept and is fixed and all-inclusive.
Co-located shows — who you're really reaching
Professional Beauty London does not run alone. The 2026 edition is co-located with the World Spa & Wellness Convention and the International Manufacturers & Distributors Forum, which widens your audience well beyond salon owners to spa and hotel-group buyers, distributors and international wholesale partners. That matters for stand design: if distributor and wholesale deals are part of your goal, you need a private corner for those conversations as well as a retail-style front for salon professionals browsing product.
Stand sizes, layouts and build-up at ExCeL
Beauty exhibitors typically take 9–36m² spaces, with larger brands going space-only for a bespoke build. Keep testers and lit display at the aisle edge, the demo chair in clear view, and consultation space toward the back. On logistics, beauty stands move a lot of stock and consumables, so we design discreet storage and plan delivery around ExCeL's build-up window — and because Professional Beauty shares the halls with co-located events, we confirm shared-space rules and access timing before we crate.
Sampling, demos and stock: the practical problems a beauty stand has to solve
Professional Beauty is a hands-on, product-led show — buyers want to touch, test and try — and that changes the layout brief. A stand that works here usually needs demo or treatment stations with access to power and, where possible, water; comfortable seating for live demonstrations; and a clear queue path so a crowd around a demo doesn't block the aisle or your other conversations. We plan those zones first because they dictate where services and storage have to sit.
Stock and hygiene are the other practical constraints. Beauty exhibitors move a lot of product and consumables across two busy days, so we build in discreet, lockable storage and a small back-of-house area for restocking without breaking the front-of-stand experience. Surfaces are specified to be wiped down and kept presentable through heavy sampling. None of it is glamorous, but it is the difference between a stand that still runs smoothly on the afternoon of day two and one that looks tired by lunchtime.
Reusing your Professional Beauty stand
Professional Beauty London is an annual fixture, so a reusable modular core pays for itself quickly. We store the structure between editions and refresh the graphics and product walls for each year's range, which keeps your cost down and the stand looking current. Recycled and low-waste materials are used where the design allows, and we can summarise what was reused for your sustainability reporting — increasingly useful for the larger distributor and brand exhibitors. Between editions we also keep a record of your stand's build specification, so scaling up or reordering elements next year starts from a known baseline rather than a blank page.
On-site support and project management
Every stand comes with a dedicated project manager from kickoff to breakdown, and our crew is on call during show hours for graphic touch-ups, electrical issues or last-minute changes; larger stands get a dedicated on-site lead. Because we pre-build and inspect in-house before delivery to ExCeL London, the on-site install is the replication of an already-approved build rather than first-time assembly under the clock — which is what keeps your opening morning calm.
Next step for your Professional Beauty stand
Send your stand size and the products or treatments you want to feature. You'll get a 3D concept showing exactly how your range sits on the stand, plus a fixed all-inclusive quote within 48 hours — built in-house and installed at ExCeL to the venue's space-only and rigging rules.
We also design and build exhibition stands for other major UK shows — see the full show calendar for consumer & lifestyle and beyond, all with the same in-house team, fixed all-in pricing and full venue paperwork.
